Christmas Party Outfit

Following on from my previous post about Christmas glitter nails, I thought I would do an outfit post showing you what I wore on the night of the Christmas Party. The good thing about my Christmas party being unusually early is so that I can help give you some ideas for how to dress for yours!

After a lot of online browsing looking for the perfect dress, I found an amazing dress on ASOS by Chi Chi London. I will let you look for yourself but the top has lovely gold detailing with a sweetheart neckline and capped sleeves. The skirt itself has netting underneath to give a fuller look.

Sorry I don't have a proper outfit photo but we all got ready in a rush to get to the party on time after work!

Accessories

I paired the dress with a pair of cream and black peep toe heels I bought from Next last year and a black and gold clutch bag I bought from ASOS a few years ago.

Christmas Makeup

I went for the gold glittery eyes and classic red lip. I used the Nude on Nude Eyeshadow by NYX and also Barry M Glitter Dust in Silver and Etude House Bling Bling Eyestick to add shimmer to the eyes. I wanted a lip colour that would last for most of the night without me having to re-apply it every 10 minutes! I opted for my favourite red lip colour of all time by Bourjois in Framboise. It's a lovely matte red that lasts for the whole night!

What kind of look will you go for at your Christmas party?

Chelsea.

Personalised Chroma Notebook

I am very excited to have received my Personalised Notebook from Chroma Stationery in the post the other week!

I love how you can personalise your notebook from the colour, binding, page preferences and logo/quote on the face of it. This can all my done on their website. It has changed drastically since I last went on it to place my order and there are now many more colours available.

As if this hasn't enticed you enough, these notebooks are so affordable compared to a lot of personalised notebook services that I've experienced coming it at £7.50.

I think these would make great little stocking fillers as it's coming up to Christmas. I've seen ones where people have personalised it to have a motivational/inspiration quote on the front. That may have to be on my next order once I've used up this one.

I got mine in the colour Joanna - it's a lovely mint green, but leaning more towards the green side than I imagined it to be.

Let me know if you place an order with them! And also, it would be great if you have any good motivational quotes for me to put on the front of my next notebook!

Love,

Chelsea.

Christmas Glitter Nails!

I've got my work Christmas Party this week and I've been gathering up lots of ideas for my outfit, makeup and nails etc. One thing that I seem to always over look and leave to the last minute is what colour to paint my nails! I thought I would be prepared this time and get the glitter top coat sorted, with 4 days to spare!

Here my top pics from Ciate:

From Top to Bottom, Left to Right:

1. Snowglobe

Such a pretty topcoat. It has different sized holographic glitter chunks that reminds me of shards of ice.

2. Jingle Belle

This would need to be applied with one of those funnel things that Ciate provide you with to apply over your nail varnish while it's still wet so the glitter stays put. It's got different coloured fine glitter, but the main colour is a corally orange shade.

3. Confetti

This is a simple silver fine glitter that can go over almost any colour nail varnish or layer it to get lovely festive silver nails!

4. Party Shoes

Another Holographic type circular glitter pieces varying in size that gives it a something extra, I think this may be the chosen one for my Christmas party to put over a red nail varnish.

Will you be wearing glitter nail varnish this year?

Love,

Chelsea.

How to cope with your first Blogging Event!

I recently went to my first ever blogger event which Bloggers Love hosted at a bar/club called Kanaloa in London. It was from 4-8:30pm but I had to arrive around half 5 as I was going from work. I'm not usually shy about meeting new people and don't have a problem with making conversation, but I was so nervous that day! Walking into a room full of other bloggers seemed so daunting and Twitter suddenly seemed like such a better place to chat to other bloggers.

As I made my way there, I had to keep telling myself that this would be a good experience for me and that there's nothing to worry about and that it would be fine once I arrive.

And you know what? It was completely fine, more than fine, I loved it! I'm not going to lie, but walking into a room full of other people was definitely the hardest part of the night. But once I got talking to a lovely girl called Natalie, I felt a bit more at ease and started getting more into the flow of things.

There were lots of brands dotted around the space and they were all very approachable and very generous with giving their products away for us to try! I love how you can discover so many different brands by going to events like these.

My highlights were:

  • Obviously getting to meet other Bloggers after "meeting" them on Twitter
  • Getting to talk about skincare/beauty with so many like-minded people that were as excitable as I am about it!
  • Receiving hair advice (and products!) from the Umberto Giannini team
  • Learning about new products on the market

If you are like me, and feel hesitant to go to your first Bloggers Event, I would definitely recommend to not think about it too much and just go! Life is too short to not get involved, and if it isn't for you, then at least you tried it.

It was so lovely meeting Angie @chocandlipstick and Pao @paowong1

What were your first Blogger Event experiences like? Were you as nervous as I was?

Love,

Chelsea.

Moisturising Winter Night Skincare Routine

Continuing from my previous post about Snail Mucus (which you can read here), you'll know that my skin is a lot drier during the Winter season. All the products that I use right now really help moisturise and get rid of random dry patches on my face!

I like to keep my skincare routine pretty simple as I, like many of you too don't have that much time every night to do a full on pamper session!

Cleanse
Using the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, I take off the days makeup by massaging it into my skin and then taking it off with the muslin cloth. I can't tell you how much I love this product, what's great is that you can take off your eye makeup with it too.

Double Cleanse
I soak 2 cotton pads with the Bioderma cleansing water (another cult product in the beauty world), and wipe off any excess makeup that I may have missed from my previous step. I do tend to see the remainders of my foundation on the cotton pads so it's definitely worth this extra step!

Tone
I've poured my Liz Earle Skin Tonic into a little spray bottle to make it easier to apply all over my face as I found that I wasted a lot of product when pouring out the product straight from the bottle! It also feels so refreshing when spraying toner all over your face and then gently pat it until it's fully absorbed.

Moisturise
I've been using Shiseido moisturisers for years now and they've been really nourishing on the skin. They are quite pricey though but I definitely think it's worth the investment as each tub lasts for ages! This was is from The Skincare range 0 Night Moisture Recharge.

Eye cream
I bought the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado in Duty Free on my way to Hong Kong and I admit it's done a good job at moisturising my eye area but it doesn't do much else other than that. I don't think I'll be in a hurry to buy another one when I finish this one, I need one that I can feel tightens up my eye area!

Moisturising Face Mask
I'm a massive fan of the Origins Face Masks. This Drink Up Intensive Over night mask has been part of my skincare routine for a long time now and I don't think I could live without it! I notice the difference when applying my makeup the next day if I haven't applied any the night before. My foundation doesn't sit properly on my skin and sometimes highlights the dry patches on my face. Thumbs up from me!

I hope this has helped you in some way.

Love,

Chelsea.

The Best of Origins Skincare

Origins were recently giving a free 75ml face mask with any two purchases.. I think it's still on promotion if you're quick! Two of my absolute favourite face masks - Drink up intensive and the Clear Improvement. I jumped at the opportunity as my Clear Improvement clay mask had run out for a good month and I hadn't had the time to repurchase it.

I love everything about the brand. The packaging, the smell of the products and more importantly - they work.

Here are the things I bought from there:

GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser
I decided to push the boat out and try something new from their skincare range. The bright packaging instantly caught my attention! Plus, who wouldn't want radiant, glowing and smoother skin?! Let me know if you would like me to do a review on this once I've tried it for a while.

Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask
My first ever stab at a clay mask and I was shocked at the results. It made my skin look instantly clearer and I definitely noticed less breakouts than usual (minus the hormonal ones obviously).

Drink Up Intensive Mask
This has also been a favourite of mine for a long time. I've repurchased it at least 3 times! If you think doing a face mask is too much of a hassle, then treat your face to this. It's as easy to apply as a moisturiser, I literally smooth a layer of this onto my face and then get into bed and rinse in the morning to get glowing skin!

What are your favourite products from Origins? I would love to try out some of your recommendations!

Love,

Chelsea.

I found the secret to flawless skin? Snail Mucus.

Winter is here and so is my dry skin! My face is a lot drier in the colder months and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I have a few facemasks that I like to use a few times a week when I'm feeling diligent!

The top two masks in the photo are a Bird's nest mask (helps brighten and improve elasticity) and a strawberry yogurt mask (exfoliates skin, brightens & helps treat acne). I've loved these masks from a Taiwanese brand called My Beauty Diary and the best thing about them is that they're so affordable, yet effective!

Now onto the real topic of this post... Snail mucus. It's been a much talked about topic in the skincare world for some time now and I thought it was time to share my thoughts on it too.

It really excites me when something like this crops up in the skincare world. Although it's not a completely new concept, the hype around it is phenomenal and it really shows that consumers will do anything to achieve "perfect flawless" skin.

Skincare experts claim that snail mucus has properties to clear acne, heal scars, tighten skin and reduce wrinkles. Sounds like a miracle ingredient!

When I was in Hong Kong earlier this summer, I saw that a lot of skincare brands were stocking the "snail mucus" ingredient in their products, which I had never seen or noticed in the UK market. I decided to give it a go and I'm so glad I did! The face sheet masks that I tried really felt like  it tightened my face and my skin felt so moisturised and nourished!

Now, I'm not sure how much snail mucus was contained in the mask, but it definitely gave me glowing skin. I regret not buying more now as I don't know the brand of the masks to be able to find it online. Snail mucus products are a definite must-have if you're prone to dry skin in the winter.

Have any of you tried snail mucus skincare?!

Love,

Chelsea.

Top picks - Rucksacks!

If you were a 90's kid, or even 80's... remember those days where we would rock up to school with our little rucksacks full of books?! Or was that just me... Nerd Alert. If you do remember, good news! (or bad!), they seem to be back on trend again! I've always seen Rucksacks to be more of a masculine bag but there are so many designs out there now that have made them into a lovely feminine looking accessory.

I've picked out a few that I've got on my wishlist at the moment. One of which may be unobtainable at the moment... Cough Mulberry Cough.

1. Zara - Rucksack with metal fastening £29.99

2. Boohoo - Lucia Dogtooth Rucksack £18

3. Dorothy Perkins - Mi Pac Purple All Over Tartan Backpack £30

4. Mulberry - Cara Delevingne Bag with Lion Rivets

Budget Winter Essentials Haul!

It's coming up to that time of year... The time when every penny counts but you still want to treat yourself to winter essentials?! I did a little bit of shopping on Sunday and thought I would share it with you. It's not much, but I'm so excited about them and can't wait for night ins where I can wear them. Here's the blogpost to for some ideas of what I would do on a night in.

It's pretty much official that I now publicly display my love for Tartan patterned things... #Tartan

New Look Red Check Reversible Oversized Scarf - £14.99
This is so warm and snuggly, perfect for wrapping yourself in as it's getting so cold now. I love that it's reversible so it's pretty much like two scarves for the price of one! New Look are doing well on the prints front for scarves at the moment.

Primark Tartan Pyjama Shirt - £7
What's a Budget Winter Haul without something from Primark?! This pyjama shirt is so soft and cosy, It's quite long so you could probably get away with wearing just the shirt to bed for extra comfort. I could easily stay in it all day as well as wearing these cute cream knitted slippers (£6) from there too!

I have spotted so many Christmas Primark Pyjamas in preparation for Winter.

What have your budget buys been recently?

Love,

Chelsea.

How to deal with stress

Image

Sometimes, everything can feel like it's getting a bit too much.

When you feel like you have too many responsibilities or tasks that need to be completed, it can be overwhelming. It was after a recent breakup that I felt like I had to be constantly busy so I wouldn't have the time to feel sad or upset about reality. I threw myself into a world of constant busy-ness. While it was good on the one hand, by being a distraction, it has also caused me a lot of stress and constant worrying whether I will do everything on time.

When I start to feel like this, I try and take a step back (I know it's difficult!) and focus on the important things. There can be a lot of "noise", as in tiny small tasks that make you feel like you have LOTS to do.

I've come up with a few things that I tend to do when I'm feeling stressed:

1. Make lists, lists, lists! Having everything on paper will stop you from constantly thinking about what other things need to be done, and instead helps you focus on the current task.

2. Think about one task at a time. I know this is an obvious one, but I found that I used to jump from one thing to another without fully finishing it, meaning that I just ended up with loads of unfinished tasks.

3. Don't work yourself too hard. We're humans, not robots. Take a break. You'll come back more productive.

4. Take time out from your phone/laptop/tablet. As a blogger, my phone is constantly going off with Tweets, instagram messages, facebook messages... All sorts of social media! I don't like not replying to messages, and the more that build up, the more anxious I get if I haven't been able to reply to all of them. (Is this just me?). By turning off your phone and not looking at it, you don't have to worry about not replying to people meaning you can focus on your tasks.

5. Do something you love. This can be whatever makes you feel relaxed and happy. Such as yoga, a sport, spa, hanging out with friends. The options are endless! Forgetting about your the to-do list as long as your arm, for a few hours in the day is definitely beneficial.

I hope you've enjoyed my tips on how to deal with stress. Feel free to tweet me @itschelsea_ if you want more advice :)

Chelsea.

Things to do in Paris

I just got back from a weekend away in Paris and couldn't wait to share some photos with you all. Paris is a beautiful City with amazing wine and food. What more do I need to say?

Just a heads up that this post will be quite photo heavy but I hope you don't mind as there are some stunning sights that I visited whilst I was over there.

My friend and I stayed in a hotel called Secret de Paris, it was on a deal on lastminute.com and the hotel is stunning. It has less than 30 rooms but it was only a few minute walk away from Place de Clichy metro station which we realised was quite close to Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées. The staff were friendly and we were recommended two amazing restaurants on both evenings by them.

If you’re a foodie like me, you’ll love Le Coq – it’s a swanky restaurant just opposite the Eiffel Tower, right by Trocadero station. Me and my friend went there after a cruise along the Seine and the food was delicious. This restaurant is definitely on the pricier side (around 50 Euros each) but it was worth it for an experience of real French food.

The other restaurant was called Chez Toinette – it’s hidden down a little street off the main road where the Moulin Rouge is and at first, it feels like you’re walking into someone’s front room, it’s that small! But the food was so delicious, a real homemade food kind of feeling. The staff were so friendly and made you feel welcome. This one was slightly cheaper but still around 40 Euros each.

I don’t know about you, but I could live off of French food and drink good wine. If anyone knows of any nice French restaurants in London, please let me know!

A few tips that I learnt whilst travelling in Paris:

·        Get the EuroStar! We decided to fly to Paris as it was the cheaper option, but ended up wasting a lot of time getting into the City when we got to the airport. It took about 40 minutes by train to get to Gare de Nord and from there, we had to take the Metro. It felt like a struggle with all our luggage!
·        Buy the 10 Metro passes for 13 Euros. This is so much easier, each ticket can be used unlimited amount of times for an hour.
·        Download the TripAdvisor App onto your phone and download the Paris Map, this can be used without any 3G which is so much handier than opening up a A2 sized map in the middle of the street!

I hope you found those tips useful… I’ll leave you with some photos that I took whilst I was there.

As we both hadn't been to Paris before, we went full on with the touristy attractions! I'd like to visit the hidden sights of Paris next time I go... Where would you recommend?

Love,

Chelsea.

5 things to do on a night in.

Image

Winter is coming... Which means you can look forward to cosy nights in (inbetween parties of course). I really cherish having nights in as it doesn't happen that often between now and the end of December so I thought I'd share what I get up to on my nights in.

1. Have a bubble bath. I love going to Lush to buy something I can look forward to use in the bath and just have a huge pamper session.

2. Make a hot chocolate. With whipped cream, marshmallows and sprinkles - the whole shebang!

3. Turn off your phone. It's nice to take a break from calls/texts just for a few hours as we spend so much of the day on it. Well, I do anyway. iPhones are addictive.

4. Watch your favourite TV shows. My guilty pleasures include TOWIE and Made in Chelsea.. Don't judge me for watching trashy TV! I'm also loving The Apprentice at the moment. Pretty Little Liars is also a great one to watch if you're into slightly thriller but also a girly TV show.

5. Catch up on YouTube videos and Blog posts. I find that a lot of my inspiration for my blog comes from reading other blogs that give me ideas.

I hope you've found this interesting! What do you usually do on your night ins?

Love,

Chelsea.

Missguided Top Picks - Party Dresses

We are finally on the countdown to Christmas.... I mean, Halloween... Ahem. Who else is excited for party season to start? I've selected 5 dresses from Missguided that I'm loving the styles of at the moment in preparation for party season. They're all very different in style so hopefully there's a dress to cater for everyone's taste.

I'm into quite simple plain dresses at the moment that don't have that much of a pattern because you can keep it very understated, or add a bit of jewellery to dress it up.

1. AALIAH LACE SIDE SPLIT MAXI DRESS NUDE

This dress looks so elegant but sexy at the same time. I love that the top half is very covered up but the slit in the skirt makes it a little different. I just need to find an occasion to wear this to...

Such a simple dress but the off the shoulder sleeves and the sweetheart neck line makes it into such a cute dress. I would pair this with black heels, red lips and a fun coloured clutch!

This isn't usually a dress I would go for but the pattern and colour drew me in. It's different to any dress that I've owned. As this is quite dressy, I would wear this to a bar on a girl's night out with white heels and a white clutch.

Another simple black dress which I just loved the look of while I was scrolling down the Missguided website. I like the gold detail which really cinches in the waist.

5. VERITY CREPE SCALLOP SHIFT DRESS WHITE

This dress can be dressed down with flat boots and a leather jacket for a more casual look or dressed up with heels. I've been loving the scalloped detailing as it makes a difference to the look of an outfit.

What are your picks from Missguided?

Love,

Chelsea.

Dealing with Trust issues & being let down.

Image

Trust is a very sensitive subject and I can probably speak for everyone that at some point in their life, their trust has been broken. I'm not here to be bitter or cynical about the entirety of the human race (bit of an exagerration?!) but I am here to hopefully try and help you try and overcome these unfortunate situations if it ever comes to it.

Being only 23, I am in no way an oracle of this topic but I've had my fair share of having my trust completely and utterly broken and have been left feeling so upset and angry which has ended up affecting my other relationships with people because I'm scared that everyone is going to do the same. I end up putting up a barrier of self defense up to protect myself from being hurt again.

The saying "innocent until proven guilty" still applies but it does come with warning labels. It is difficult for me to completely trust someone now but I'm working on it. If you don't have high expectations from someone, such as your boyfriend, girlfriend or friend, then you can't possibly be let down right? But we are all human and of course we have expectations. Just realise that no one is perfect and everyone, including yourself has the ability to let someone down or break someone's trust.

There are a few things that I do to try and overcome my trust issues which I hope might be useful to some of you:

  • Try not to let past relationships affect your new ones - easier said than done. There ARE some good people out there, you just need to find them!
  • Try and forget past relationships and don't dwell on the bad parts, but think of what you have learnt from it instead.
  • Once the trust has been broken, it is very difficult to get back to where you originally were in the relationship even if you are both more than willing to forgive and forget. It may be easier to just leave now rather than prolong the pain, only to have the same ending further down the line. Obviously everyone has different circumstances but I think this can be applied to the majority.

Who of you reading this can put your hand up to say that you've never had your trust broken by someone you 100% trusted? If you are in that category, you're so lucky!

This was a bit of a sad post... Normal beauty/fashion posts will resume this week!

What other advice can you offer on this topic? I would love to hear from you.

Love,

Chelsea.

Liebster Award!

Firstly, I would like to thank Hollie for nominating me for “The Liebster Blog Award”, I wasn’t expecting it at all! I’m so happy that people take the time to read and comment on my blog. I’m so glad I “met” Hollie when I attended my first Twitter blog chat the other week and she’s so sweet!

I had never heard of the Liebster Award until Hollie nominated me last week so I did a bit of research and I think it’s great that you can see other bloggers being so supportive of each other. The idea is that once you’ve been nominated, you answer a set of questions and nominate at least 5 other bloggers with less than 3000 followers that you think should be nominated.

So after following Hollie’s rules for this, here are my answers to the questions!

1.      What are your top 3 bloggers and why?

I always scroll through my Bloglovin feed when I wake up in the morning and I pick the blogs I want to read based on an eye catching photo or blog title. I've been trying to cut back on spending recently so have been reading up on Fee's  (Makeup Savvy) money saving tips! Another one is One Slice of Lemon's blog where she recently wrote a post on how to save money

2. What drives you?

We all experience days where we feel a bit down about where we are in life and how we’re going to achieve our life goals. But I think we all need to take a step back sometimes realise that things don’t just come at the click of a finger, or instantly – no matter how hard you try. When I’m experiencing these days, I find taking a step back and focusing on what makes you happy is really the key. Once I've calmed myself down, I sometimes find scrolling through motivational quotes on Pinterest really helps You can check out the motivational quotes I've pinned here.

3. What little thing makes you happy?

As cliche as this sounds, I love being around friends and family and just be around the people who really care about you. It's important not to get lost in your career/life goals and forget those around you. On a less "deep" note, cosy nights in (as it's now practically winter in London!) and watching a good film is also something that makes me happy. Oh, how could I forget shopping? Shopping makes me happy.

4. What is your dream job/ personal goal?

My dream job would be something beauty/fashion/social media related. Hence the blogging! I really love telling anyone and everyone about products I'm loving or giving tips that I've learnt through experiences. Obviously there's only a small handful of you who actually read my blog but my goal would be to expand that and help a lot more people with beauty/life related topics.

5. Do you have a favourite food?

I think I could go on forever about food... I try and be pretty healthy but definitely have one too many cheat days where I just indulge in anything and everything! My weakness is probably chips. I crave them every time after a night out. Is anyone else the same? I also love going to fine dining restaurants I've never been to before to experience the atmosphere as well as the amazingly presented food. I recently went to the Amaranto Restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel on Park Lane, London. I honestly think that this is one of my favourite restaurants.Just look at the food on my blog!

6. What is your favourite beauty brand? (makeup or facial care, or hair etc)

This question is basically like asking a parent to choose their favourite child. It's just unfair and frankly, impossible. I am a strong believer in splashing out on skincare though as this is the base for all your makeup, meaning you can spend less on makeup (not sure how cost efficient that is but, hey!). A few skincare brands that I use are Shiseido, Liz Earle and Etude House. Hair care... you will have to wait for my blogpost coming up about what I use on my hair! Makeup: Missha BB Cream, BareMinerals, Etude House, Bourjois.

My nominations... One Slice of Lemon, Makeup by Jake J, Life x Emporium, Chelsea Marrs & The Brown Eyed Fox. All their blogs are amazing!

Who will you nominate?

Love,

Chelsea.

Festive bath products from Lush!

Sparkly Pumpkin

So I accidentally fell into the Lush shop after work... And I'm proud of myself for managing to restrain myself to just 3 things. The Halloween/Christmas products have already come out and there were so many things that I wanted. The one good thing about cold weather means more baths and more shopping trips to Lush! I decided to go for things that I'd never tried before, although they're the scents that I would usually go for - sweet.

Magic Wand
This is such a cute idea - you're supposed  to swish the magic wand in your bath to create bubbles. You can probably tell from the colour of it that it smells just like sweets. I literally can't wait to use this.

Sparkly Pumpkin bubble bar
CAUTION - this is extra glittery! An explosion of glitter landed all over my bathroom floor when I took it out of the paper bag. I haven't used it yet so I'm not sure if you will end up looking like a disco ball afterwards but it's okay, it smells amazing. It says it's got juniperberry (never heard of this!), lime and grapefruit oils in it so it smells lovely and citrussy.

Yog Nog soap
This smells good enough to eat! it's a very sweet honey sort of scent which contains soya yogurt and ylang ylang essential oils which you just rub all over your body. The description on the Lush website says it smells spicy but I can't smell that at all.

I think I may have to make a second trip quite shortly...

What have you been loving from their festive range?

Love,

Chelsea.

September Beauty Favourites!

As we step into October, it truly is Autumn now. Not going to lie, my thick wooly scarf and winter coat did make an appearance last week!

Although I've been sporting a "no make-up" make-up look these days, I feel that when the weather gets colder, it's more acceptable to wear more make-up i.e. bolder lip colours, more mascara and more eyeshadow. Obviously I don't cake on as much makeup as humanly possible.

Here are the products that I've been LOVING this September.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Finish in 02 Frambourjoise
I've written a full review of this previously on my blog so I won't bang on about it too much but this just transforms your whole makeup look. It's a bold lip that you won't budge if you do the whole apply one layer and then dab and then apply another layer (you know the drill...). It stays put for the whole day even after I'd had several drinks but not food, but come on, no lip product would be able to survive that, let's be realistic here. Please give this a go!

Etude house Drawing Eyebrow pencil
I've never really been too bothered about my eyebrows, until I picked up this up from Etude House. It's just a double ended eyeshadow dark brown pencil. I usually brush through the hairs quickly before applying the pencil gently in small strokes. It's a twist up pencil which makes it so much easier because you don't have to faff about with finding a sharpener. I then brush through my brows again to make it look more natural.

Etude House Dear Girls Oil Control Pact
This translucent powder transforms your whole skin texture and makes it looks so much smoother and flawless... Do I need to say anymore?! I apply this after applying BareMinerals foundation powder and the finishing powder makes my foundation last the whole day.

Bourjois Mineral Radiance Eclat Mineral 07 Hale
I've had this pressed powder for a while now and I used to love it but then somehow forgot about it while I was busy trying out new products. I rediscovered it while tidying my makeup collection and I couldn't be happier! This shade is obviously a lot darker than my natural skin tone but I use it more like a bronzer and apply it mainly to my cheeks and then lightly over my whole face (I can get slightly carried away when applying this!) It gives you such a nice glow and I definitely need it when my skin gets duller in the colder months!

Blush Palette (Bargain eBay purchase!)
I can't remember which blog made me want to instantly buy this from eBay, but it's definitely one of the best things I've bought from eBay by far. I've used it every day in September and because there are 10 colours to choose from, it's so versatile. There's 3 matte shades and the rest are slightly shimmery, but nothing that isn't wearable during the day. For £3, the blushes last very well and aren't too powdery.

What have you been loving?

Chelsea.

Amaranto Restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Park Lane

Starter

Main

Dessert

I went to Amaranto Restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel in Park Lane, London at the weekend and it has quickly become one of my favourite restaurants. Firstly, the hotel is stunning and the all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Secondly, the food was AMAZING. Thirdly, we had a private dining room that was sectioned off of the main restaurant and it was great catching up with family and family friends.

Starter: Kale and Beetroot Salad with seared Sea Bass and Quinoa.
Main: Pan Fried Wild Sea Bass with Black Rice and Samphire.
Dessert: Spiced Vanilla Cremeux (Poached Pear with Pear Sorbet)

I think my favourite course would have to be the starter - it made me feel healthy with all the kale and quinoa! The kale wasn't bitter at all and the Sea Bass had a slight sweetness to it with the way it was fried. Although I loved every single course and it seemed like I was in a real Sea Bass mood that night!

I'm very impressed with the restaurant and would definitely go there again. If you like the sound of that menu, I would go soon as they seem to change their set menus quite often.

Have any of you eaten here before?

Love,

Chelsea.

September Discoveries

Image

There's so many things you can read/do on the Internet, but sometimes you get stuck in a rut of going on the same websites, the same apps on your phone day after day. I'm talking about you Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook! As much as I love them, I love exploring what else the app store/Internet has to offer.

HooteSuite

I may be a bit late on the bandwagon with this one, but Hootsuite is a blogger friendly app. If you're anything like me and find it difficult to keep up with all your social media as a blogger - this is your saving Grace. You can link your Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts and have all the notifications in one simple app. I only linked my Twitter and Facebook Page in this nifty app! As a blogger, you want to try and be active on as many Social Media Platforms as possible, this app basically allows you to send out a tweet and Facebook status all in one go if you're tied for time.

Vinted

Vinted is basically an app where you can buy and sell clothes, only girls' clothes, sorry guys! If you're looking to sell your clothes, this is the place to go! It tells you exactly what your profit will be after fee deductions and how much to charge for P&P. I've had terrible experiences with eBay selling, but love buying on there! It is another one of my great discoveries thanks to Niomi on YouTube (please tell me I sent you to her YouTube page if you go and check her out or already know her! :-) ) In her YouTube video, she was saying how she bought branded (e.g. TopShop, River Island, Zara etc) clothes for a fraction of the price. I haven't bought anything on there before but I have a small collection of clothes to sell if you want to check out my profile here.

Emerald Street

I found out about this website whilst reading the Metro actually. It's another one of those websites where there's just so much to read - basically everything a girl would want to read! Varying from fashion & beauty to careers and things to do. It's easy to get stuck in a rut, going to the same bars and restaurants so it's nice to get some inspiration and ideas on where to go in London. You can also sign up to a daily newsletter that gets sent to your email - handy for reading on the train.

Free Prints

Last but not least, my friend recommended me to download this photo app where you can select photos from your phone and ask for them to be printed and sent to you. Do you know what the best thing is? The first 10 prints are completely free of charge - you have nothing to lose! And you get 45 free prints every month and all you have to pay for is postage which is only around £2. Are you sold yet? I've just ordered my 10 free prints so will update you on Twitter with how I get on with them. In this day and age, everyone has their photos stored on their phone or in digital format, and rarely do you go through them properly and reminisce back like we used to with our thick photo albums. I think this would be a good way to reflect back on the year.

Will you be trying any of my favourite discoveries this month?

Love,

Chelsea.

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

Image

So that was it. Summer has been and gone and wow did we have some scorching heat here in London this year! Do any of you find that you get a bit bored at the end of a Season, or is that just me? Personally, I'm more than ready for Autumn.

1. Cosy Clothes - by this I mean, cute jumpers, scarves, coats and not to mention boots. (I would say Bobble hats but hats really don't suit me!).

2. You can finally say you want to stay in with a mug of hot chocolate and Netflix without feeling like a total party pooper! Come on, don't tell me I'm the only one?!

3. Halloween parties - Perfect excuse to dress up and become someone else for one night. What did you dress up as?

4. It's candle time - I love finding new candles to fill my room up with! So far, I've been loving the Yankie Candles but I want to branch out into others. I've seen Muji do cute little tinned candles for only £3.50 that I want to try out!

5. Fairy lights - I can finally dust these off and put them back up as I feel they're more of a cosy night in kinda thing, rather than turning them on on long Summer days... It instantly makes your room/house so much cosier.

6. Wearing burgundy/maroon coloured clothing - I feel these colours shout the word AUTUMNAL very loud and clear. So far I have a burgundy jumper from H&M which I bought ages ago (sorry couldn't find the link!), a pleated burgundy skirt from H&M and a chiffon shirt from H&M

Those are my top favourite things about Autumn. I would love to hear about yours!

Love,

Chelsea.

The top five skincare rules I live by

I've learnt quite a few beauty tips and tricks over the years the hard way, so I thought I'd share my top five with you

1. Always take your make up off, no matter how tired you are! Trust me, you'll be thankful in the morning. There's nothing worse in than waking up with a makeup stained pillow. Not to mention, it's really bad for your skin if it hasn't had a chance to breathe all night!

2. Never tug around your delicate eye area. If you're putting on eye cream or concealer, pat gently with your ring finger and if you're  putting on eyeshadow, gently apply with an eyeshadow brush

3. Eye creams aren't just for when you get wrinkles! You need to prevent them as early on as possible. Start by using a hydrating one in your early 20s and then gradually move towards more rich anti-wrinkle eye creams over the years.

4. Never pop your pimples/spots. An obvious one. It's true that it leaves scars and takes longer to heal. Instead, use a cotton bud and apply tea tree oil to it to dry it out.

5. Don't wear makeup everyday. I know this is difficult sometimes, especially for me as I've got scars from previous spots. I started by not wearing any or minimal eye makeup and used BB cream instead of foundation as it's less clogging for your pores. Then I started using mineral foundation from BareMinerals, which provides loads of coverage like a foundation but is actually great for your skin!

I hope you've learnt something new in my blogpost and let me know which ones you agree with!

Love,

Chelsea.

My Little Box

It's official everyone. I'm in love... With the packaging of My Little Box. I'm a sucker for packaging and if something is packaged well, I will convince myself to like an "okay" product. However, this is definitely not the case - the packaging and products are spot on. There have been lots of little Beauty Box Subscriptions popping up everywhere for the past few years where you get a few small sized products from different brands, but this definitely tops all of the ones I've tried so far. I initially heard it from Fleur's blog post  and immediately went on their website. My Little Box originally launched in France but has just come to the UK this month!

Enough rambling from me and let's see what's inside... Not only can you receive beauty products, but you can also receive stationary, fashion and even accessories. Each box is themed and as you can see, beautifully packaged.

From L to R: Notebook | My Little Beauty Stylo Lumiere | Laura Merceir Foundation Primer | Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi Usage Dry Oil

I am seriously impressed with my first box this month and can't wait for next month's one already. It's like Christmas every month now! We all know that French skincare are miracle workers so I'm definitely going to try these products to attempt to get their signature glow.

I don't want to ruin the experience of receiving your first My Little Box for you so I will leave it here and let you enjoy it!

Which box is your favourite so far?

Love,

Chelsea.

Tanya Burr lipgloss and nail polish review!

For a while now, I have been going into every Superdrug store I pass to look for Tanya Burr’s Cosmetics and I was disappointed everytime as they didn’t stock them. There had been so much hype  in the blogging world about it and the fact that a Youtuber/Blogger had launched her own makeup range was amazing! I wanted to see it in person first, as swatches online never quite look the same in real life.

I was passing a Superdrug one day thinking that they wouldn’t stock the Tanya’s products but what a surprise to find them on a little shelf just off the main make up aisle! I picked up a lipgloss (as I couldn’t decide on a nail polish) in the colour “Aurora”. She has given all lipglosses and nail polishes such cute names. A week or two ago, I ordered one of Tanya’s nail polishes "Be Bright. Be Happy. Be you" from feelunique.com as there was a 10% discount code.

I was so excited to try it out and I’d been hunting for a good bright pink one for a while. Let me tell you this… the nail polish formula is incredible. I was in a rush getting ready and was painting my nails while on the phone to a friend (as you do) and it’s so pigmented and applies with no streaks at all. You can get away with just one coat (as I didn’t have time for a topcoat!), which is what I’ve been doing and I’ve only had one tiny chip all week.

Onto the lipgloss… I sometimes find it difficult to find a pink lipgloss to show up on my lips as they are naturally quite pigmented. They either have to be really dark or really pale in colour (which is NOT a good look). This colour is perfect and so pigmented that you only really need one layer of this on your lips. I'm definitely going to try out the other colours! Maybe a bright lip colour will be next on my wish list.

Which one is your favourite?

Chelsea.
