Quick, Easy and Flawless - BareMinerals SPF15 Foundation

I have managed to stumble across this product which offers a quick, easy and flawless finish to your face. This product has been hyped up in the beauty world, but not as much as I would have thought given the amazing results I achieved when using it.
This may come as a surprise if you have read my blog post a while back about "The best BB cream ever". I swore by this BB cream and this BB cream only, for at least 5 years. I used nothing else on my face.

This product really surprised me. Even though I had heard so many good reviews about how it gives you a flawless finish, gives you smoother skin and minimises pores... I still wasn't fully convinced. Recently, I was in one of their shops in London and I was persuaded and given a small sample pot of the mineral foundation along with a little brush to apply it with to try. It was sitting at the bottom of my bag for a while I admit... But I must have felt unusually brave and adventurous the day I decided to give it a go. So here are my thoughts....

You only need a tiny bit of powder on the brush to get a medium coverage. I poured a little bit of the mineral powder (colour in fairly light) into the lid and dabbed the brush into it and tapped off the excess. I am not kidding when I say it erases away the imperfections and discolouration on your skin! The more you buff the powder in, the more coverage you seem to achieve. It takes minutes to achieve a flawless face with minimal effort. I don't even need to apply concealer afterwards. Just a little bit under the eyes and you are good to go. This is perfect if you prefer to get an extra 20 minutes of sleep than spend that time applying makeup before work!

The only downside I have found with this is that the coverage doesn't last all day, however this can be fixed if you prep your skin with a good primer first. I am definitely going to buy the full size now before the sample pot runs out... I have used it for about 2 weeks now so definitely go and ask for a sample if you are skeptical like me!

Spring/Summer time essentials!

We have finally entered Spring here in the UK (just about) and Summer is just around the corner! So I thought I would talk about a few things that I will be getting out in the Summer and hopefully inspire you to, too!

1. Large Sunglasses - (From a shop called Ans in Hong Kong)

Unfortunately, I got these sunglasses years ago so wasn't able to find the link for you. But there are a lot of similar ones out there at the moment with massive lenses :). What I love about this is that, instead of a normal plastic side, it has leather sides which makes it a bit different. Everyone needs a pair of sunglasses in the summer and don't forget to invest in one that will actually protect your eyes from the sun.

2. This Works - Perfect Legs Skin Miracle

This stuff is actually amazing! I use this at the beginning of Spring/Summer as my legs have been in hibernation for a good few months and are likely to be looking quite pasty... I apply a pea-sized blob on each leg and rub it in and it evens out the skintone on your legs like it has been airbrushed on photoshop! Who wouldn't want that?! Even with a tan, you could probably apply some on to even out odd patchy tan marks.

3. Victoria Secret - Pure Daydream Spray 30ml

If you aren't one for sweet scents, then this one might not be for you! It is very sweet but is slightly floral too. It just smells amazing and reminds me of Summer. I got it in the small size so I could pop it into my bag to top-up the scent throughout the day as it does wear off after a few hours I find! But at under £10, it's not unreasonable. I bought this towards the end of last year and still have over half left!

4. Soap & Glory - Solar Powder

As you get gradually more and more tan during the Summer, you obviously want your face to match up to that too! This bronzer/highlighter gives a gorgeous finish to your skin and makes you look sunkissed, healthy and glowing. You can use the bronzer side to contour your face or you can just use the highlighter to sweep the top of your cheek bones and nose to create a nice glow to your face. It is a "no effort" product where you can just sweep it on and head out the door in minutes!

5. Nars - Blush in Deep Throat

If you're like me and don't fancy wearing too much makeup in the Summer, this blush makes you glow but looks so natural at the same time. It is another "no effort" product where I can just blend it onto my cheeks and it makes me look healthy. If you don't fancy spending £20 on a blush then check out Natural Collection's blush in Peach Melba which is only £1.99! This also gives a very natural peachy glow which is perfect when you have a tan.

6. Max Factor - Colour Elixir Lipstick Pink Brandy

I apologise that the photo has made the lipstick look a lot more red than it actually is! The photo of the swatch is a more accurate colour - a peach corally colour. I haven't been brave enough to actually apply an opaque coat of this onto my lips yet. Instead, I've been dabbing it on my lips and then patting it with my fingers to create a more toned down coral lip. You can see my previous post about Spring lips where I talk about this in more detail.

7. Miu Miu - small pink shoulder bag

With festival season coming up, a small colourful bag is essential! It doesn't have to be designer, any bold coloured bag will do! Plus, you don't want to be lugging around a massive bag in the heat. I know it's hard, but try and pack lightly when you go out! Who else ends up putting things in their bag  that they "might" need, and then never end up using it? I'm definitely guilty of that - so try and bring just the essentials.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

London Hilton Park Lane - Galvin at windows restaurant experience

Here is a different post to the usual beauty posts I've been uploading! But I enjoyed this experience too much to not share it with you all...

It was my dad's birthday at the end of March and I decided to take us to the Galvin at Windows restaurant in the London Hilton hotel on Park Lane for lunch. As you can imagine with most fine dining restaurants, you need to book a table well in advance. This restaurant is on the 28th floor of the hotel and over looks Hyde Park so it was obvious to ask to be seated near the window to get a good view! Good view + good food.

For my starter, I had Confit duck leg, smoked bacon ragoût & pommes écrasées (basically a duck with mashed up potatoes!)

For my main, I had Steamed fillet of cod, broccoli purée, pomme Lyonnaise & white asparagus. This was so nice and from the photo, you can see they added some foam to make it look all fancy!

My dessert was definitely my favourite part of the meal! Violet & rose water meringue, vanilla crème chantilly. This was heaven... I can't even describe how good it was. My parents thought it was too sweet but me and my brother really enjoyed it.

As it was my dad's birthday, they brought over a plate of chocolates with 'happy birthday' written on it in chocolate which I hadn't even asked them to do. It was a lovely surprise :).

It was such a nice day when we went so the photos of the view outside turned out really well. Hope you enjoy the photos and this different blog post!

Spring lip colours! L'Oreal, Soap & Glory and Max Factor

I'm back... with a new post! The sun inspired me to write this post.

1. L'Oreal LExtraordinaire 201 Rose Symphony
2. Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss stick Nudist
3. Max Factor Colour Elixir 825 Pink Brandy

So, I have been loving these few lip products lately. Especially because the sun has been out in England (although it is still chilly) and it has put everyone in a happier mood! In my books, happy = bright colours. Without further ado, here are the 3 lip products I have been LOVING.

1. L'Oreal LExtraordinaire 201 Rose Symphony
This has got to be my greatest find this month! I have always wanted to try these "Liquid lipsticks" ever since YSL came out with the Glossy stains but have just found it too difficult to justify buying it for over £20, especially as I wasn't sure if I would use it regularly. Anyway, back to the L'Oreal one... It is so pigmented and smells sweet and fruity which I love. I literally dab a tiny bit on my bottom lip and then rub my lips together and even it out by patting it with my fingers to achieve a gorgeous pink stain on my lips. I opted for the slightly brighter shade from the range as my lips are naturally quite pink so choosing a nude shade would be pointless! I am definitely going to try another one of their bright shades in preparation for Summer!

2. Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss stick Nudist
I first heard about this from Fleur from FleurDeForce - she manages to find the most amazing products that I have tried out on her recommendation! For me, this doesn't really apply on my lips with any colour but for those of you who have naturally paler lips may see a bit of colour. What I love about this is that it a) smells good and b) feels so nice on your lips. If you ever forget to bring a lipbalm with you, then this gloss stick will sort you out! It leaves your lips feeling so soft and it literally does what it says on the tin. It is a lips gloss in a stick form! It gives your lips a glossy sheen that isn't TOO glossy that your hair sticks to it when it's windy. You can apply it without a mirror too which is always handy on the go.

3. Max Factor Colour Elixir 825 Pink Brandy
This colour is amazing on the lips and I can imagine it looking even better when you have a slight tan! I have had lots of compliments when wearing this on my lips which is always a bonus :). This coral colour is so flattering if you have medium to light skin tone and is great for an every day lipstick when you are a bit sick and tired of wearing pinks and reds all the time. It lasts quite well and I find that if you put a light layer of it on and then dab your lips with some tissue and then put another layer of it on, it lasts up to a few hours and it stains your lips.

What lip products have you been loving for Spring so far?
