The Summer Tag!

I'm terrible and can't remember which blog I read and saw this tag... but it seemed like a fun tag so I made a note of it and made sure I would make a blog post.

1.  What's your favourite thing about Summer?
This is going to be an obvious one... but it has got to be the weather. The sun just makes everyone happier doesn't it? It makes you want to go out and do more rather than a night in with a film when it's cold outside. A few of my other favourites: smoothies, ice cream, picnics, sunglasses, pretty dresses, long nights and BBQs!

2.  Do you have a favourite Summer drink?
SMOOTHIES. It makes you feel so good afterwards knowing you've had so much fruit in one glass! Sometimes I mix it up and put spinach in a fruit smoothie too to be extra healthy! I posted a fruit smoothie recipe here not too long ago if you want a quick and simple recipe!

3.  Is there a location you like to go to each Summer?
I have been to a number of places in the Summer which usually involves going on holiday! Until a few years ago, I rarely spent the Summer in the UK as I would either be in Hong Kong, New York, Italy, Greece or Spain! I'm spending most of my Summer in the UK this year so I definitely want to go on long walks in the country side with a picnic or go to Brighton and be by the sea!

4.  Favourite makeup look for Summer?
I don't really change my makeup look too often. The thing I change the most would be lip colour. I am always on the hunt for a lip product that can actually stay on my lips and have the least maintenance. I recently discovered a matte lipstain by bourjois which gives a really bold lip colour! Check out my review on these here

5.  Dresses or skirts?
I don't think I could ever choose between these! Pretty summery dresses are great as you don't need to think about what to pair it with. But I love pairing a bold skirt with a simple plain strappy top and sandals!

6.  Sandals or ballet pumps?
This is a tricky one! I'm not a fan of feet in general so I would probably prefer wearing ballet pumps which I LIVE in no matter what the weather is!

7.  Do you prefer to wear your hair up or down for Summer?
During the day, I would probably have it up in a bun if I'm going to be out and about in the sun but will probably curl it with my Babyliss Glamorous waves curling wand when it's a bit cooler in the evenings.

8.  Deep smokey eyes or bold lips?
Definitely bold lips. I like to keep my makeup simple but the bold lips always make a statement and such a difference to your makeup look!

9.  Favourite perfume for Summer?
I love Lovestruck by Vera Wang. Such a pretty fragrance that I have loved for years! It's very sweet so if you don't like sweet fragrances... maybe steer clear of this one!

10.  Last but not least, favourite music for Summer?
I love anything by Bastille. It just really calms me down but also makes me so ready for summer! I am pretty lazy and pretty much listen to anything that's on Capital FM.... Who else does this?!

Hope you enjoyed this and feel free to answer these questions and send me a link to your blog!

Chelsea.

Dealing with exam stress!

I know that some of you will have exams coming up or are in the middle of them, and it really doesn't help that the sun is out! I, myself have just been studying for my exams that go towards my accountancy qualification and found it so difficult juggling revision and my full time job! So I thought I'd share some tips on how to de-stress during exam times but also feel productive and prepared for your upcoming exams!

I'm no expert when it comes to revision but I have a few tips that I use to keep me calm as the exam date looms...

Firstly, don't feel like you have to revise 24/7 with no breaks in hope that you will achieve your target grade, this will only make you more unproductive! Everyone's attention span varies but I like to set a target of hour and a half blocks where you fully concentrate on revision and then take a half an hour break before doing another hour and a half block of revision.

Secondly, NO PHONES! This may be obvious but it made me so much more productive when I left my phone upstairs while I was revising downstairs. This meant that I didn't have any temptations of checking text messages, Instagram, twitter, read blogs... Etc. I only checked my phone during the break because you all know how easy it is to procrastinate on there!

Thirdly, make time to relax. I either take a bath with a lovely Lush bath bomb, go out with friends or watch a TV show or your favourite film. It's important to relax your brain (obviously to a certain extent depending on how close your exams are!) and by doing so, you can come back to revision feeling refreshed!

Lastly, stock up on food and water. And no, I don't mean comfort eat! Being hungry or dehydrated will reduce your ability to concentrate as you're constantly thinking with your stomach!

What tips do you have to de-stress during exams or stressful situations in general?

Good luck for those of you who have exams coming up, you can do it!

Chelsea.

BlogProof - Blog editing service REVIEW

"Poor grammar and spelling can distract readers from the real message you're trying to send" -BlogProof.

I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to try out a blog post editing service from a website called BlogProof!* I'm so excited to share this with you all!

BlogProof basically edit your blogposts for you before you upload them live on your blog and check for spelling/grammar mistakes. The process couldn't get any simpler!

1) Go onto their website.
2) Go to Editing Options at the top and click on Basic Editing
3) Upload your draft blog post that you want them to edit either as a word document or just copy and paste into the space provided and voila!

Depending on how long your post is (I would guess it's probably under 500 words if you're a beauty blogger like me!), they charge different amounts for up to 500, 1000 and 2000 words. The time they take to email you back with your newly edited blog post will also depend on how many words you've submitted to them.

I submitted two 300 word blog posts for 'Basic Editing' last week and they were returned to me in less than a day! I was very happy with the results (see my previous blog post which was edited by them). Obviously, they don't change your wording too drastically as you will have tailored it to how you want your post to come across to your viewers, but what they do re-word for you makes the whole blog post read a lot smoother.

And now for the exciting part... For those of you who are interested in this, BlogProof have kindly offered to give you all a discount code! Enter ANY20 when purchasing one of their services to get 20% off to be used once by the 31st August! It's really inexpensive starting at $3 (just under £2) for the most basic edit.

Let me know what you thought of BlogProof and whether or not you will be trying them out! :-)
(Also, how cute is their logo?! I love the colour combination)

Love,

Chelsea.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks Review!

After the dust has just settled down about the new Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks, I have hopped onto the bandwagon and decided to give them a go! I was a bit skeptical as I'd never tried matte lipsticks before, but you know what? You have to be brave with makeup sometimes - especially as it's now summer (as far as England goes) and it's the perfect chance to try out bright lip colours.

I'm going to cut this review to the point. The verdict: AMAZING.

I can't believe it took me this long to try them out. I bought two, Ole Flamingo, which is a vibrant dark pink and Frambourjoise, a red berry colour with a slight pink tone. I can't decide which one I love more, but I do think Frambourjoise is probably a more wearable colour on a daily basis.

These lipsticks apply as a gloss and then within a few seconds, they turn to a matte finish. Admittedly, I did find it quite difficult to apply around the edges of my lips, so if any of you have tips to apply this neatly, it would be greatly appreciated! I'm slowly getting there though. Once on, the color really doesn't budge. I had to remove it with makeup remover and a cotton pad. You can definitely tell there's something on your lips, but it's not an uncomfortable feeling and you don't have the worry of smudging it all over your face like a bright lipstick! Bonus! :-)

The Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipsticks are £8.99 from Boots, but Boots are always doing 3 for 2 offers! I will definitely be going back to get some more, maybe Peachy Club?

Let me know what you all thought of these. :-)

Love,

Chelsea.
